ALEPPO PEPPER

ALEPPO PEPPER is a zine by Kelly Shami that brings together digital artworks, sourced imagery, personal archive photos and poetry to explore the layered experience of being a first generation Syrian artist in America. Shifting between the intimate and the found, it collapses boundaries between memory, visual humor and self mythology.

The title evokes Aleppo pepper as both cultural reference and metaphor, heat that is complex, carried, and slowly revealed. This notion of spice is reframed through a fiery feminine lens, positioning identity as something bold, sensual, and self defined.

Aleppo Pepper becomes both a personal archive and a reimagined space where cultural memory and contemporary identity burn together..
